Lozenets

Lozenets is an attractive resort with a good balance of small hotels, apartments and family homes; a world away from the sprawling crowded resorts of Sunny Beach and Golden Sands.

Lozenets is at the southern end of the Black Sea coast, towards the Turkish border, so summers tend to be long and sunny. Beaches in Bulgaria are generally good, and Lozenets beach is no exception – a wide stretch of sand about one kilometre long with a few discreet beach bars plus a popular windsurfing centre.

Lozenets comes alive in the summer and is particularly popular with young people and families.The offshore winds attract windsurfers and kite surfers.   In the evenings most of the activity is in the area around the fountain and town square with a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants and two night clubs nearby.

Tourism is not new to Bulgaria; it used to be the favourite summer destination for the population of Eastern European countries during the communist era. It is still significantly cheaper than most Mediterranean countries, and the food is excellent, with a lot of it being locally produced.
